Riverhead Town Police reported 127 criminal incidents and issued 86 criminal charges in April, according to a monthly crime report released by Police Chief David Hegermiller this month.

For reference, police reported 164 criminal incidents and issued 103 criminal charges in April 2023. There were 83 individuals arrested in April — 82 adults and one juvenile.
Out of the 83 individuals arrested, 46 were held for arraignment.

There were 2,494 non-criminal incidents reported by police in April.
Police reported 143 motor vehicle accidents in April; 20 were classified as minor. Nine accidents involved deer.
