A Medford woman has been charged in a March 21 auto heist at an East Main Street gas station, the Riverhead Police Department said in a press release this afternoon.
A vehicle was reported stolen from the Mobil gas station at 415 East Main Street at 4:21 p.m. on March 21, police said. The unoccupied vehicle was recovered a short time later at an apartment complex in Moriches, according to the report.
Riverhead detectives, who were assisting in the investigation of the vehicle theft, were also investigating two burglary cases involving Magee, who police said stole items on March 7 from the Nike outlet store in Tanger Outlets and from Marshalls on Old Country Road. Both stores had previously signed trespass affidavits against Magee, police said.
Magee was being held on unrelated charges at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility as of March 27, police said. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office brought Magee to the Riverhead Police Department today for processing on the auto theft and burglary charges, according to the police report.
Police said Magee was charged today on charges of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a class C felony, two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and two counts of Burglary in the Third Degree, a class D felony.
Magee was arraigned today in Riverhead Justice Court and remanded without bail to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility.
