Albert R. Stepnoski of Riverhead died July 11, 2026, at home. He was 84 years old.
Born July 27, 1941, in Greenport, he was the son of Albert and Bertha (Kozakiewicz) Stepnoski. He attended Suffolk County Community College. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army, earned expert rifle designation and received an honorable discharge. He worked as an aviation mechanic at the Mattituck Airbase. His hobbies and interests included bowling, flying his private plane, motorcycling and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Joseph and Michael; his daughters, Mary Stepnoski and Anne Binkis; his brothers, Bernard and Frank; his sisters, Bernadette Osterberg and Marilyn Stepnoski; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Isidore’s Cemetery.
