Jared E. Hazzard died July 31, 2026. He was 46 years old.
He served in the United States Air Force and Navy for a combined 21 years. He also served with the Jamesport Fire Department for 18 years. His family said he led and mentored countless airmen and was known for his professionalism, compassion, humility and care for others.
He was predeceased by his mother, Audrey. He is survived by his wife, Johana, and his son, Samuel; his father, Robert, of Riverhead; and his sisters, Rebecca (Brian) of Riverhead and Helene (John) of Moriches.
Military honors will be held Friday, Aug. 7, at 11:30 a.m. at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements were entrusted to Lee Funeral Home.
