Allen J. Luce of Riverhead died Aug. 17, 2026, at Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue. He was 73 years old.
He was born Feb. 2, 1953, at Central Suffolk Hospital. After high school, he served in the Navy and the Air National Guard. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation.
He worked for the U.S. Post Office. His enjoyed karaoke and was known as “Big Al,” his family said.
He is survived by Bonnie Sue Luce, Nathan Luce and Melissa Carbone; and four grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. at Community Baptist Church in Riverhead. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
