Eileen Patricia Michel of Southold died Aug. 28, 2026. She was 71 years old.
Born March 30, 1955, in Queens, she was the daughter of John Patrick and Marie McTiernan. She worked as the office manager at Ron Morizzo Kitchens and Baths in Cutchogue. Her family said she cherished her family and her dog, Joey, and that she loved to cook and spend the day in the kitchen. They said she was affectionately known as “NY Grandma,” and that her home was a place where everyone was always welcome and always fed.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Kathleen Pellecchia, Maryann Mirasola and Noreen Sangiamo. She is survived by her life partner, Ron Morizzo; her son, Adam Michel; her daughter, Melissa Michel; her granddaughter, Emma (David); her brother, Jackie McTiernan (Sandy); and her nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold, where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Garret Johnson.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons or the North Fork Animal Welfare League.
