Alfred Bruce Madsen of East Quogue died Sept. 14, 2026, at Stony Brook University Hospital. He was 78 years old.
Born July 6, 1948, in Bay Shore, he was the son of Alfred and Leona Madsen. He graduated from West Islip High School in 1966 and served in the Coast Guard from 1972 to 1978. He married Judith Dawley on April 1, 1980, in Hampton Bays. He worked as a boat mechanic at Modern Yachts in Hampton Bays. His hobbies and interests included fishing and leatherwork.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Leona Madsen. He is survived by his wife, Judith; his children, Tracey Micari of Quogue and Eric Madsen of Center Moriches; his sister, Leona Stritch of Virginia; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
