Baiting Hollow hill

Police said the man was a passenger in a large box truck traveling westbound on Sound Avenue near the Baiting Hollow hill when it left the roadway, struck a utility pole and a large tree, and overturned just before 10 a.m.. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A 46-year-old Mastic Beach man was killed in a two-car collision on Sound Avenue at the Baiting Hollow hill Wednesday morning. The accident is under investigation, Riverhead Police said.

A 31-foot camper ran off the road and into the woods in Baiting Hollow early Monday morning. Police closed Sound Avenue to allow a tow truck room to work.
