Cross Sound Enhancement Project

The Cross Sound Enhancement Project was stricken from the N.Y. Metropolitan Transportation Council’s regional freight transportation plan in a unanimous vote of the council's planning and administration committee yesterday afternoon in NYC.

In advance of the March 31 deadline for written comments on the regional freight transportation plan that would bring an estimated 3,000 more trucks each year to North Fork roads, local officials register opposition with state.

Zeldin wrote to the NYMTA council today requesting that the Cross Sound Enhancement Project be scrapped from the council's regional freight transportation plan.
