A Westchester-based developer is looking to build a '5-star resort' on the Long Island Sound in Riverhead and has met with Town Board members and other officials to discuss the idea.

Hotel developer Lee Browning yesterday won IDA approval of tax abatements and exemptions worth more than $1.6 million over 10 years, including an estimated $579,162 in real property tax abatements. IDA member Dawn Thomas cast the lone 'no' vote.
