Local officials and other community members gathered at the town’s World Trade Center Memorial Park in Calverton this morning for a prayer ceremony honoring those who lost their lives in the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Everyone who lived through that day will never forget the terror, the heroism, the sorrow or the way life as we knew it was forever changed. We will never forget the terror attack victims or the heroes who perished trying to save them.

Kevin Shea of Baiting Hollow, who responded to the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center as an NYC fireman, will star in a play next week about eulogizing firemen who died in the attack.
