Southampton Head Start

An event held by Long Island Head Start today to announce its plan to build a new facility on property it owns in Riverside, ended with a $2.25 million surprise for the organization.

The Southampton Head Start building in Riverside, which is owned by the Town of Southampton, is not safe for occupancy due to structural damage found by contractors earlier this month. The Head Start program needs to find a new location in a hurry.

Truth Community Church, Flanders, Riverside and Northampton Community Association and Peconic Bay Power Squadron donated $1,500 to buy 104 turkeys, one for each child at Southampton Head Start.
