St. Isidore School

St. John Paul II, the Catholic elementary school that opened at the former St. Isidore School site last fall graduated its first class of eighth-graders Friday evening.

The 55-year-old Catholic elementary school, which will close its doors on June 22, bid farewell to the the Class of 2018 at its final graduation ceremony Friday evening at St. Isidore’s Church.

It was an emotional moment for the students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, former teachers, parishioners and clergy who gathered around the statue of St. Isidore outside the Marcy Avenue school to celebrate the saint’s feast day as a school community for the last time.

St. Isidore and Our Lady of Mercy will be consolidated into a new N-8 school, St. John Paul II Regional School on the Marcy Avenue property that currently houses St. Isidore’s.

St. Isidore School will hold open house at the school on Jan. 29 and 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

St. Isidore School invites you to attend their annual ladies' luncheon on April 8.

The New York Blood Center lost 3,000 donations due to winter weather last week, creating an emergency shortage. Donors can give blood Sunday at St. Isidore's School in Riverhead or today at Southold FD.
