Teen drivers

Riverhead police officers will take part in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee’s “No Empty Chair” campaign during the week of April 20, with enforcement and education efforts focused on teen driving safety.

The Riverhead Police Department school resource officers and patrol officers are set to participate in the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee's "No Empty Chair Campaign,"  beginning Monday, April 21. 

The 'No Empty Chair' campaign is a statewide teen driver education effort being launched as prom and graduation season arrives, with the aim of preventing tragedies among teen drivers.
