Here's an update from Riverhead Town Supervisor Yvette Aguiar regarding the COVID-19 situation.

Riverhead Town Supervisor Yvette Aguiar this afternoon signed an order declaring a state of emergency to address "the threat that COVID-19 poses to the health and welfare of its residents and visitors.” The order cancels meetings, events —including the Jamesport St. Patrick's Day Parade — and closes town buildings and facilities.

Riverhead Supervisor Yvette Aguiar has promoted legislative secretary Lisa Darrow Richards to the position of budget officer/chief of staff. The supervisor has also appointed Donna Lynn Sadowsky to the legislative secretary position.

Supervisor Yvette Aguiar announced Thursday evening she will appoint her chief of staff, Devon Higgins, as her deputy supervisor. Last week she said she would name Councilman Tim Hubbard to the post.
