A masked burglar used a large rock to break out the glass of the entry door of an Osborn Avenue deli-cafe early this morning and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Police said the man smashed the glass of the door with a large rock to gain entry to the Express Deli and Café located at 303 Osborne Avenue in Riverhead just before 1 a.m.

Surveillance video shows a masked man dressed in dark clothing breaking the door with a large rock, police said.

Police, responding to a commercial burglar alarm at 12:51 a.m., deployed a K9 unit and a track led to the area of nearby Lincoln Street, according to a press release issued this morning.
