(Updated- Aug. 23, 5 a.m.) Riverhead Town Police are searching for a man who robbed the Chase Bank branch at 655 Old Country Road (east of Ostrander Avenue) just before 6 p.m. Monday.
The suspect was described by police as a white male, with long black hair who was wearing a black hooded shirt. He handed a teller a note demanding money, was given a quantity of cash and fled on foot. Police searched the area surrounding the robbery with the assistance of NYS police and Suffolk County Sheriff’s K9 units.
