Riverhead Town highway crews will be paving Mill Road from West Main Street to the Stop & Shop entrance Friday beginning at 7 a.m., Highway Superintendent George Woodson said. The work on Mill Road should be completed by noon, he said.

Highway crews will then move to Osborn Avenue, where they will pave the road from just north of the highway department headquarters to the traffic circle at Middle Road. The Osborn Avenue paving is expected to take the rest of the afternoon, Woodson said.

School buses and local business traffic will be allowed to pass, Woodson said. All other traffic will be detoured for the safety of highway workers, he said.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
