Riverhead Town Supervisor Laura Jens-Smith will have evening office hours on Mondays beginning next week.
The evening office hours will be by appointment, according to a press release issued today by the supervisor’s office.
“I think government should be accessible to its constituents,” Jens-Smith said in the release. “We have many hard-working residents that can’t always make it to Town Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and I think it is important to extend business hours to accommodate their schedules.”
She will start taking evening appointments beginning Monday, Jan. 22. Residents who’d like to schedule an appointment should call Patrick Derenze at 631-727-3200 ext. 654.
