The East End Fringe Festival returns to Vail-Leavitt Music Hall February 2 at 7 p.m. to launch its second season with the East End Premiere of “Play Time” — a documentary on Long Island theater featuring over 100 area performers and participants.
A press release issued by the Fringe Festival says “Play Time” turns the camera on actors, directors, crew and fans. Filmmaker Anthony DiFranco pulls back the curtain for a closer look at what brings theater to life on Long Island. Adding performance highlights and visits to dozens of theaters from Bay Street to the Vail-Leavitt, Theater Three and beyond, “Play Time” transports the audience from backstage to on-stage and out to the towns and communities that enthusiastically support local theater.
After the film screens, there will be a panel discussion by DiFranco and theater makers Kate Mueth, Andrew Botsford, Bob Kaplan and East End Fringe Festival’s Debbie Slevin on stage for an enlightening ‘Theater Talk.’
The event is free and open to the public.
