Riverhead easily took down Longwood yesterday, 14-6, posting their ninth win in the last 10 games.

Riverhead set the tone of the game immediately, scoring just a minute into the game. They quickly scored five more, making it 6-1 in the first six minutes. By the half, Riverhead lead 10-3.

Longwood picked up strength in the second half, closing Riverhead’s lead to three points, 10-6. But Riverhead responded re-energized, adding four more goals for a final score of 14-6.

Riverhead (9-3 in Div. I, 9-4 overall) will look to hand undefeated Northport (13-0) its first loss Wednesday on the Waves’ home field. The game begins at 4:30 p.m.
