The 16th Annual Teeny Awards, which celebrate excellence in high school theater, were announced today at ceremonies at Longwood High School in Middle Island.

Judges’ Choice Award
This award is chosen by the judges in a vote. It is for a particular scene, musical number, dance
number, ensemble effort, or group that the judges feel stands out enough to warrant the special
recognition.
This year, the award is presented to the full cast of “Phantom of the Opera” at Southold. The judges felt that the ensemble put on an outstanding performance of an incredibly difficult show!

The awards ceremony followed a pre-show red carpet event and included scenes from some outstanding performances in productions staged by the 13 participating high schools in the region:

The ceremony was hosted by WBLI radio personality Roy Atkin.
