Kenneth Arthur Higgins of Greenport, formerly of Bayside, died at his home on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was 70 years old.
He was born in New York City on August 6, 1947 to Arthur V. and Cathryn (Tolan) Higgins and raised in Bayside.
He was a graduate of Miami University and then a member of the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1972.
He was the co-CEO of H&H Aircraft Services in Richmond, Virginia. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and sailing.
Predeceased by his wife Maureen on April 7, 2016, he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth of Danbury, Connecticut, his mother Cathryn Talan Higgins of Flushing, his brothers, Brian of Greenport and Flushing and James of Floral Park and by his business partner Jay Hill.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport with Fr. Richard Hoerning officiating. The U.S. Navy will render military honors at the conclusion of the Mass.
