A Riverhead man has been charged in connection with the armed robbery of a Huntington Station gas station yesterday.

Suffolk County Police said Jesse Huber, 40, of Northville Turnpike displayed a handgun and demanded cash from an employee at the BP gas station at 272 East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station yesterday at 1:30 p.m. The employee complied and Huber fled the scene, police said.

An investigation by SCPD Second Squad detectives led to Huber’s arrest last night at approximately 10:40 p.m. at the Commack Motor Inn, located at 2231 Jericho Turnpike, Commack.

Huber was charged with robbery in the first degree and held overnight at the Second Precinct for arraignment today in First District Court in Central Islip.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
