(Updated: Tuesday, 6 a.m.) Snow and ice accumulations will make travel difficult for motorists tomorrow.
Mixed precipitation is expected with total snow and sleet accumulations of two to four inches and ice accumulations of up to 1/10 of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow, moderate to potentially heavy at times Tuesday morning, will mix with sleet from south to north late Tuesday morning, according to NWS forecasters. More rain mixes in with the sleet on Long Island mid- to late afternoon into Tuesday evening.
Winds will gust 20 to 30 mph Tuesday morning into early evening.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. until midnight Tuesday.
