Here’s good news for people who love animals and gardening.
The North Fork Animal Welfare League is looking for gardeners to grow a new community garden at its Riverhead Animal Shelter on Church Lane in Aquebogue.
Gardeners will be assigned 20 foot by 20 foot plots, where they can grow plants of their choice and will be responsible for tending their plots until autumn.
The garden is located on the shelter’s six-acre, mostly wooded site.
NFAWL will present gardeners with awards throughout the growing season for a variety of gardening categories.
For more info and to claim a gardening plot please call 631-765-1811 ext 1 or email Denise LeBeau.
Claim your plot by May 21.
