Several hundred of people packed Main Street for the Grand Halloween Parade Saturday night — and grand it was.

Over 60 groups preregistered to march in the parade: dancers, zombies, floats, hearses, cars and people in in very elaborate, very creative costumes.

A panel of judges picked winners among the participants:

Best car: Haunted GTO
Best costume: Little kid Ghostbuster (Christopher Death, age 5, Medford)
Best spirit: Bright & Early Discoveries and Dory’s Day Care
Floats:
first prize – You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
second prize – Ghostbusters
third prize — Hotel Transylvania

The parade was organized by Riverhead BID Management Association executive director Kristy Verity with the assistance of former BIDMA executive director Diane Tucci.

The parade followed two hours of trick-or-treating on Main Street, which also drew a large crowd of costumed kids and parents.

Coffin races earlier in the day drew a crowd to Griffing Avenue. See photos.
