Riverhead Middle School students are learning stress management skills as part of a new mindfulness program led by health teacher Lindsay Lindenbaum.
“The program brings mindfulness to the classroom and is specifically geared for school-age students,” said Lindenbaum.
As part of the program, students have been practicing deep breathing techniques in health class, along with table-side stretching and guided imagery.
The new initiative is made possible through a free classroom subscription to the Calm app, provided by the Calm Schools Initiative.
