A Flanders man is facing a felony weapon possession charge following an incident at a Flanders Road residence last night, Southampton Town Police reported this morning.

Police said they responded to a 911 call from a residence on Flanders Road shortly after 7 p.m. last night, where the caller reported a person threatening another with a knife.

Responding patrol officers arrested Ralph Maffei, 57, of Flanders with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a felony, Menacing in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor, and Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation, according to the police report.

Maffei was processed at Southampton Town Police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
