The United States Power Squadrons is offering “America’s Boating Course” on Saturday, June 4 and June 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Port of Egypt Marine in Southold.
The two-part course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and the U.S. Coast Guard and will ensure boaters are compliant with NY State boater education law. The course material includes boating law, safety equipment, safe boating practices, navigation, boating emergencies, personal watercraft, charts, GPS, trailering and more.
Attendees will receive the 244-page course manual and receive instruction on the material. After passing an exam the students will receive a certificate of completion and a wallet card.
The event costs $60 and registration can be completed online via the Peconic Bay Power Squadron website or by calling Vince Mauceri at (631)725-3679. Registration must be submitted before Saturday, May 28.
