Auditions for The Addams Family musical will be held on Monday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Pulaski Street School, Riverhead Faculty and Community Theatre announced.
Those interested in auditions should prepare 16 bars of a contemporary Broadway theater song — an accompanist will be provided. Selections from The Addams Family musical can also be used especially if there is a particular role that you wish to audition for.
The show follows the upside-down and inverted world of the Addams Family. They feel pain as joy and darkness as light. The musical follows the story of the eldest daughter Wednesday falling in love with a typical boy from Ohio and all the trials and tribulations associated with a family faced with the choice to change or to separate.
The shows will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13, then Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20. No performance conflicts will be considered.
Characters to audition for include: Gomez Addams, male tenor or baritone; Uncle Fester, male or female tenor or baritone; Lucas Beineke, male tenor; Mal Beineke, male high baritone or tenor; Lurch, male; Pugsley Addams, male or female alto; Mortica Addams, female alto or mezzo; Wednesday Addams, female pop soprano or mezzo; Alice Beineke, female soprano; Grandma, female; and the ensemble of Addams ancestors ,male or female all vocal ranges.
