A Southold man was killed in a motor vehicle accident on County Road 94 in Riverside this morning, according to Southampton Town Police.
A 2011 Chrysler was eastbound on County Road 94 and left the roadway, overturning and crashing into trees in the median, police said in a press release this afternoon.
John R. Cushen, 90, of Southold, a passenger in the vehicle, was killed, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, Theresa Sweeney, 68, of Southold, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Detectives are investigating the crash, and anyone with information is encouraged to call 631-702-2230.
The eastbound lanes of County Road 94 were shut down this morning following the crash, which occurred at around 9 a.m. The roadway has been reopened, police said.
