Soon we will be asked to vote for a new town supervisor as well as two new town council members in Riverhead. Who we choose will be crucial to the future development of our town. Voting party-line this year may very well destroy the make-up of Riverhead. The present council has overwhelmingly been in favor of warehouses and the EPCAL sale.

Mr. Hubbard, while he tries to say he is against the warehouses and cargo planes, remained shockingly subdued at the IDA meeting at the Hotel Indigo. It was his chance to prove he really is against these projects and he failed.

Before we vote this year, we need to listen carefully to what the candidates say and watch how they act upon these words. Otherwise, we may regret the votes we cast and will pay the price for our mistakes for years to come.
