Verna M. Campbell of Riverhead died on May 16, 2023, at San Simeon by the Sound. She was 90 years old.
Born on March 27, 1933 in Riverhead, she was the daughter of George and Gladys (Brown) Smith. She received her education at Riverhead High School. She worked as a receptionist at RiverheadTown Hall for 37 years.
She was involved in church activities and sang in her church choir.
She is survived by her daughter Bonnie-Sue Luce of Riverhead; her sister Shirley Chase of West Virginia; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Community Baptist Church on Sound Avenue in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at the church at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Riverhead Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
