The first Alive on 25 street festival of the 2023 summer season will bring fireworks, a car show and street vendors to Downtown Riverhead Friday night starting at 5 p.m..

The free walkable street festival, organized by the Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association, features live music on multiple stages, local craft beverages, food trucks, street dining, vendors and activities on Main Street and the Peconic Riverfront.

The Alive on 25 ”family square” will provide free activities for families and children, located at the Riverhead Town Square. Activities include “bubblepalooza,” pony rides, balloons and games.

The fireworks show will start at 9 p.m..

Main Street from Maple Avenue to Griffing Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3pm-11pm for the event. Vehicles parked on Main Street must be removed before the event or risk being towed. Additionally, part of Peconic Avenue and Heidi Behr Way will also be closed.

Tobacco, marijuana and vaping products are not permitted within the event zone. Pets are not allowed, other than service animals.

There will be three more Alive on 25 events this summer on July 14, July 28 and Aug. 11.

It is expected to be sunny tomorrow throughout the day and partly cloudy in the late afternoon, with temperatures ranging from the high 70s to mid 60s, according to the National Weather Service forecast. An air quality health advisory for New York State will be in effect through midnight tomorrow, due to smoke from wildfires in Canada elevating air pollution levels across the state. Check live air quality readings on the AirNow website.
