The Riverhead Faculty and Community Theater will present “Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play” this weekend to herald in the holiday season.
Performances are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverhead High School Charles Cardona auditorium. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. Tickets are purchasable at the door or online at www.rfct1985.com.
Set between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, the musical is a retelling of the classic 1947 holiday film that follows a department store Santa Claus who claims he’s the real Kris Kringle. The show, adapted from the 1947 Lux Radio broadcast by Lance Arthur Smith, features a score of holiday carols and original songs by Jon Lorenz.
The production is directed by Manning Dandridge, music directed by Cesar Flores and is produced by Dandridge and Keira Heck. It stars Lon Shomer, Brianna Berglin, Alissa Dabrowski, Alek Lewis, Fred Nydegger, Phil Centonze, Rich Browning, Jennifer Eager, Denise Foley, Addison Heck, Mike Horn, John Wiesman and Linda Aydinian. Costume design by Deanna Andes, lighting by David Loddengaard, sound engineering by Dennis Milone and Diana Horn is the production’s stage manager.
