A coastal flood advisory is in effect for northeastern Suffolk County today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Minor flooding is expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline, according to a National Weather Service advisory. Some roads and low lying properties with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding, according to the advisory.

Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline, the weather service said.

Minor coastal flooding is also possible during high tide late Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon, according to the advisory.

Expect mostly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of showers, according to the weather service forecast. Highs today will reach the upper 60s, with north winds 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
