Riverhead High School’s homecoming day celebration kicked off with the traditional parade up Main Street yesterday, with marchers continuing to the Pulaski Sports Complex where the Blue Waves took on the Patchogue-Medford Raiders.
The parade featured class floats, the NJROTC, the Riverhead High School marching band, the high school kick line and cheerleaders, PAL football and cheerleaders, Riverhead High School staff and administration, members of the school board, elected officials and local fire departments and EMS.
The freshman class (Class of 2028) float won first place in this year’s float contest.
On the field, the Blue Waves fell to the Raiders 34-29.
The Waves (1-2) are at home again next week, hosting Brentwood (0-3). Kickoff time is 1:30 p.m.
