Contestants in the stein-holding contest at the 2024 Oktoberfest hosted by Reflextions Riverhead. RiverheadLOCAL/ Emil Breitenbach Jr.

Reflextions Riverhead hosted the annual Oktoberfest Saturday in Grangebel Park.

The festivities kicked off at 3 p.m. with traditional German food and beverages, a costume contest, a stein-holding contest and music by The Bratwurst Boys.

As the sun went down, the park lit up with Reflextions’ illuminated art installation, including a 13-foot Crescent Moon sculpture and a 14-foot Sea Turtle sculpture. These sculptures are part of the ongoing Reflextions: Art in the Park series, designed to blend artistic creativity with innovative lighting displays.

Reflextions is sponsored by the Town of Riverhead, the Riverhead Business Improvement District and East End Tourism Alliance.
