Riverhead Town has expanded its media campaign to promote the town with the launch this week of a quarterly digital newsletter.

The brainchild of Riverhead Supervisor Tim Hubbard, the media campaign, dubbed “Riverhead in Action,” is spearheaded by Mark McLaughlin, whom the Town Board hired as a public relations consultant in August to create a “strategic communication process that builds mutual relationships between the Town, organizations and businesses, residents, and the general public.”

“Riverhead in Action” aims to highlight the work of town employees, town events, local businesses and job openings, as well as to provide a “behind the scenes” look at what goes on in town departments.

The town has produced 13 videos since the “Riverhead in Action” campaign launched, with the first, about the retirement of the owner of the Village Cobbler on Griffing Avenue, being posted on the town’s YouTube channel on July 31.

This week, the town launched the “Riverhead in Action” quarterly newsletter, which is posted on the town’s website.

The first edition of the newsletter features profiles of various town departments and a description of the town square project.

“I hope you enjoy this inaugural edition of the Riverhead-in-Action Newsletter and that you find it informative and helpful. Town staff has been working tirelessly to put this together and I am really proud of how it turned out,” the supervisor said in an introductory message on page one of the newsletter.

The next edition of the newsletter will be published  on Jan. 15, the current edition states.
