Tuesday is Election Day across the USA and polls in New York will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Election Day is a state holiday in New York. Town, county and state government offices, including state courts, will be closed Tuesday.
The State DMV offices on Long Island are open today.
Election Day is not a federal holiday. Banks, the New York Stock Exchange and the post office will be open.
Students in the Riverhead Central School will have the day off Tuesday for a scheduled Superintendent’s Conference Day.
Riverhead Free Library will be open during regular hours ( 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
The LIRR and Suffolk Transit buses will operate on their normal weekday schedules.
Riverhead municipal trash pickup will follow its regular schedule.
Correction: This article has been amended to correct an error regarding the State DMV offices being closed. Only some DMV offices upstate, which are operated by county clerks are closed today, said Walter McLure of the State DMV in Albany.
