The cast of the Blue Masques' production of 'Something Rotten!' at Riverhead High School in April 2025. RiverheadLOCAL/ Emil Breitenbach Jr.

The Riverhead Blue Masques will present the musical comedy Something Rotten! next weekend at Riverhead High School auditorium.

Performances are April 3, 4 and 5 at 7 p.m., and April 6 at 1 p.m. at the Charles Cardona Auditorium. Tickets cost $15 for general admission and $5 for Riverhead students with ID.

The play is set in the Renaissance and follows two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, as they struggle to write a hit play to compete with William Shakespeare. Frustrated by their lack of success, Nick consults a soothsayer, the nephew of Nostradamus, who predicts that the next big thing in the theatre will involve singing, dancing and acting: a musical. The Bottom brothers set out to create the world’s first musical in this high-energy comedy.
