The Riverhead VFW Post 2476 Auxiliary has announced a “Buy A Brick” fundraiser to build a border and pathway to the post’s memorial garden, honoring those who served in the military.

Engraved bricks cost $35 each.

The veteran honored need not be a member or past member of the VFW.

“It’s to honor all our veterans,” Riverhead VFW Auxiliary member Brenda Prusinowski said.

The project will honor all who served in the military to ensure our freedom, the auxiliary said in its fundraising flyer.

The garden will be taking shape this spring and the auxiliary aims to have the entire brick project completed by Veterans Day.

There will be a garden dedication ceremony some time in June (date to be announced), Prusinowski said. For bricks to be included in the dedication ceremony, order forms must be submitted by April 25.

The order form can be downloaded below.  Fill out the form and send it, with your check payable to: Riverhead VFW Auxiliary, to: VFW Auxiliary Post 2476, 620 Parkway St., Riverhead, NY 11901

Questions may be directed to committee chairman Cathy Harrison (631) 871-4479 or Dottie Minnick 631-255-0843.
