Jamesport Fire Department held a fire safety open house Saturday morning that featured demonstrations of extricating a victim from a vehicle, extinguishing a vehicle fire and putting out a fire with an extinguisher. Riverhead Police were there with a K-9 arson dog. There were booster hose target activities for elementary students and pedal car rides for teenagers and adults to promote education and DWI enforcement.
The event was sponsored by State Sen. Anthony Palumbo.
