Emmanuel A. Zarbis of Mattituck died on Oct. 6, 2025. He was 91 years old.

Emmanuel was born on Nov. 23, 1933, in Athens, Greece, and was one of seven children of Theodora and Andrew, Zarbis. He graduated from Athens High School and later attended CUNY City College in New York City, where he earned an associate degree.

On Nov. 23, 1968, he married Catherine Fourniotis in New York City. They had one daughter and moved to Mattituck in 2003. Emmanuel worked as an engineer for the International Union of Operating Engineers in New York City for 35 years. He was a member of Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in Greenlawn and participated in the church choir.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Calliopi, Dimitirous, Michael, Panayiotis, Philip, and Milton. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his daughter, Theodora Olga, of Brooklyn; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in Greenlawn, where there will be a musical interlude during the visitation. The funeral liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. John Vlahos officiating. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery in Cutchogue.
