A Flanders man was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting following a crash at the intersection of Flanders Road and Cypress Avenue Tuesday night, Southampton Town Police said in a press release today.
Alfredo Coc-Bhor, 41, failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic while exiting the parking lot of a business at the intersection, causing a two-car collision that disabled both vehicles, requiring them to be towed from the roadway, police said. No injuries were reported.
Responding officers eventually located the vehicle operator who left the scene, according to the police report. Coc-Bhor was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor; Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting, a violation; and an additional traffic violation. Coc-Bhor was transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
