Katherine P. Macari of Southold died on Jan. 14, 2026, at home. She was 93 years old.
She was married for more than 60 years to Joseph T. Macari, who died in 2021. Her family said she was generous and kind to all who crossed her path, making her home open to all and giving generously to family and friends alike. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Edward J. Macari. She is survived by her children, Anne Marie, Joseph (Alexandra), and Diane (Brian Medlin); by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, Jan. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Cutchogue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Child Center of New York in Forest Hills or Peconic Land Trust in Southampton.
