Thomas M. Ruddy of East Moriches died April 2, 2026, at NYU Langone in East Patchogue. He was 81 years old.

Born Sept. 25, 1944, in Far Rockaway, he was the son of John and Florence Ruddy. He graduated from Seton Hall High School in 1962 and attended Stony Brook University. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He married Veronica E. White Aug. 28, 1981, in Islip. He worked as a real estate broker and was the owner of Saltbox Realty. He was also a certified appraiser. He was affiliated with the Long Island Board of Realtors. His hobbies and interests included boating, and his family described him as “a South Bay boy.” He also loved classic cars and tennis.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and Robert. He is survived by his wife, Veronica, of East Moriches; his children, Gannon Ruddy of Idaho and Kyle Forbes of Sayville; his brother, Dr. John M. Ruddy of Boston; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Calverton National Cemetery.
