Perabell Food Bar

A Manhattan-based real estate investment group has purchased the Sunny's diner and Michelangelo's buildings. The same group also purchased the PeraBell and HyTing buildings. New restaurants will open in all locations, the broker who handled the sales said.

PeraBell Food Bar has closed its Riverhead location. The building has been sold to an investor and the closing took place on Tuesday, according to Isaac Israel of Richmond Realty, who said he is seeking a tenant for the "turnkey" restaurant property.

Business at the new PeraBell Food Bar East in Riverhead has exceeded expectations, restaurateur John Peragine said yesterday. Things were so busy, the summer flew past without an official "grand opening" ceremony. "We wanted to say thank you," he said.

PeraBell plans a grand opening in Riverhead right after July 4 — but look for some "soft openings" in the next two weeks, PeraBell partner John Peragine said.

Three new Main Street eateries have entered the home stretch of the renovation process and look to be open by summertime.

The former Cody's BBQ building has been purchased by the owners of Patchogue's PeraBell Food Bar, who plan to open a new Riverhead eatery at the East Main Street location next spring.
