Riverhead Central School District architects answered residents’ questions about the planned facilities upgrade and expansion at the Riverhead school board meeting Tuesday night. Residents asked questions about plans for an artificial turf athletic field, administrative offices relocation, classroom expansion, and project financing.

A referendum on the bond necessary to finance the facilities project is set for Feb. 9.

The district is hosting a “bond fair” on Feb. 2 in the high school cafeteria. The district’s architects will be on hand to answer questions and explain the plan components.

Details are available at the district’s website.

Riverhead High School students collected 102 boxes of canned goods and nonperishable supplies for Haiti last week. The donated items, which filled six pallets, were picked up at the high school by Federal Express and trucked to JFK airport, where they were loaded onto a donated FedEx plane for shipment to Haiti.
